Importance of quality of life

Quality of life is the feeling of happiness with the fulfillment of the basic needs like foods, education, health care, shelter, security and income as well as social, cultural, emotional and physical needs. It should be long lasting in life, peaceful and harmonious in the family. Quality of life depends on one's satisfactions and size of the family members. Small size family is considered to have a qualitative life in the world.
Quality of life is important in the family which includes the fulfillments of basic demands. Education, nutritious food, better health care, shelter, sanitation and good income are the key elements for qualitative life. Education plays a vital role in maintaining the qualitative life because he/she can get more knowledge and information which helps to improve the quality of life. They can get job opportunity in the future and education contributes to uplift the family income. Security in the family is important without which they cannot be happy and free from fear, threat and robbery. Family with low economic status cannot maintain a quality of life because they cannot fulfill the basic needs as they have more family conflicts, unemployment, lack of sanitation, higher maternal and child mortality rate and poverty. Women can also get involved in income generating skills like sewing, knitting and poultry farming which increases the economic status of the family. Size of the family also determines the quality of life because all the basic needs can be easily fulfilled in the small sized family rather than large sized family. The single income of the father cannot rear his children, wife, father and mother. So, quality of life of large family is adversely affected and small family is better as they can hold the responsibilities of the children as a responsible parents. Parents are more adjustable in the family planning methods, birth spacing and delayed marriage of children in the qualitative type of family which helps in the control of rapid population growth in the country and worldwide. The family having good quality of life can pay attentions towards the maternal and child health during delivery. In poor quality life family, they cannot pay attention towards the health of mother and child as they have low income and become the victim of mortality and morbidity. In the family with quality of life, there is no discrimination between son and daughters. So, daughters are provided quality education where women are still socially discriminated and are bounded in four walls of the house in low quality type of family. Education helps them to involve in social and economic activities. They can be self independent and empower other women in the society which helps to develop the country in a systematic way. Quality of life is adversely affected by socio cultural values and norms. Gender based violence (GBV), superstition and female infanticides play a vital role in destroying the quality of life in the family. Quality of life decreases with the increase of low quality of life and vice versa.
Quality of life is the major concern in modern days. Many developing and underdeveloped countries in the world do not have appropriate quality of life. Quality of life is useful for creating a good environment for the children for their career development, social development and emotional development.
